Integrating GoSquared with your Website

To monitor your site's traffic with GoSquared, all you need to do is place your GoSquared Tracking Code (GSTC) in your website's HTML just before the closing </body> tag. In order for GoSquared to track your visitors across your whole site, you should make sure the tracking code is installed on all of your website's pages.

You can find your GSTC by visiting GoSquared Settings and clicking the "Tracking Code" tab.

If you added a website to GoSquared on or after February 3rd 2010, you should have received an email with details of the website you registered along with a unique GSTC.

Manual Installation

Manually integrating GoSquared with your website is easier than you may think.

Note: You'll need access to your website's source code (the HTML) to integrate GoSquared in this way.

1. Go to Settings, and choose the site you need from the sidebar on the left.
2. Go to the "Tracking Code" tab for the selected site, and copy your GSTC from the text field. Make sure you copy the whole GSTC - leaving out any of it will likely stop if from working.
3. With your tracking code copied, access your website's source code (HTML) with the software program you normally use (such as DreamWeaver, Coda, Espresso, or other). Paste your GoSquared Tracking Code into your site's HTML just before the closing </body> tag.
4. Note: You need to install the GSTC on all pages of your site. If your site has many pages, you will probably have a template system set up, or include a global header and footer file. If so, it will likely be best for you to paste your tracking code into a file included on all of your website's pages.

Wordpress

Integrating GoSquared with your Wordpress blog is really easy - we've created a plugin to do it for you:

1. Download the GoSquared Wordpress Plugin from the Wordpress plugin directory.
2. Upload the directory called "gosquared-livestats" to "wp-content/plugins".
3. Sign in to your Wordpress admin pages and go to "Settings > LiveStats" in the sidebar on the left of the screen.
4. On this screen, enter your Site's Identification Code (it starts with "GSN") which can be found in your GoSquared Settings.

Realmac RapidWeaver

Integrating GoSquared with RapidWeaver 5 is really easy. Here's a support document that should answer any questions you may have.

SubHub

Every SubHub account comes with access to GoSquared via the SubHub Marketplace. Just follow these simple steps to monitor your SubHub site in real-time now:

• Ensure you signed up for GoSquared and signed in to your account.
• Copy your GoSquared Site Token from Settings for the site you wish to track.
• Go to the SubHub App Store: [yoursite].subhub.com/admin/marketplace/app
• Locate the GoSquared app at [yoursite].subhub.com/admin/marketplace/app/75 and hit "Install"
• Once installed, navigate to the GoSquared app inside the "My Apps" area of your SubHub account.
• Click "Settings" in the section titled "GoSquared Live Stats".
• In the Settings area, paste the GoSquared Site Token you copied earlier.
• Once you have pasted your Site Token into the "Site Token" text field, hit "Save".
• You should now be ready to monitor your SubHub site with GoSquared real-time web analytics. Head over to GoSquared and watch your traffic unfold.

Tumblr

It's easy to start monitoring your Tumblr blog with GoSquared - just follow these simple steps:

• Sign in to your Tumblr dashboard.
• Choose "Customise" on the Tumblr dashboard.
• On the Customise screen, click the "Theme" menu item at the top of the screen, then choose "Custom HTML".
• Scroll to the bottom of the HTML and paste your GoSquared Tracking Code just before the closing "</body>" tag.
• Click "Update Preview".
• As a final check, view your Tumblr blog's source code to ensure you've installed the GoSquared Tracking Code correctly.
